The Financial Institutions Campaign brings Central Island banks and credit unions from Chemainus to Qualicum Beach together for a fund-raising drive for NRGH.
Since 1998, the employee-driven campaign has raised more than $260,000 through in-branch events like garage, book and hot dogs sales, silent auctions and “pizza & pop” days. Every dollar raised goes to the Foundation for a pre-approved equipment piece for NRGH.
“This is a chance for us to give back to the communities where we do business all year long,” says Steve Gagliano, Branch Manager for TD Canada Trust Beaufort Centre. “Our employees and clients have a great time, and in the end we get to see real results in the equipment piece the campaign funds.”
The FI Campaign happens annually, throughout the month of March, at local branches of BMO, Canadian Western Bank, CIBC, Coastal Community Credit Union, Island Savings Credit Unions, HSBC, RBC, Scotiabank and TD Canada Trust.

Scotiabank, Nanaimo North Town Centre raised $1,000 through in-branch fundraising and a matching gift from Vancouver head office. From left: David Poole, Senior VP for B.C. & Yukon; Lynda Kazanowski, NNTC Branch Manager; Nanaimo Mayor Gary Korpan; Foundation director Bill Le Sage.
